GRANITE BAY, Placer County — Local roads in Granite Bay are included in a county transportation maintenance program financed with approximately $13.24 million in anticipated state road-repair funding during the 2026–27 fiscal year.

What the Board of Supervisors approved

According to Placer County’s June 10, 2026 announcement, the county approved a list of transportation projects that would qualify for funding under California’s Senate Bill 1 Road Maintenance and Rehabilitation Account.

The county’s list includes approximately 15 miles of surface-treatment work distributed across Granite Bay, Penryn and Foresthill, along with two miles of paving projects in the Tahoe Basin and other bridge, drainage and maintenance work. The 15-mile total covers multiple communities; it should not be read as a promise of 15 miles of work within Granite Bay itself.

Why preservation work matters

Surface treatments help protect existing asphalt before larger failures occur. With roads serving homes, parks, schools, deliveries and emergency vehicles, routine preservation can prevent more expensive reconstruction. Actual pavement work may require temporary traffic controls or short periods of reduced access.

What drivers should know now

The county’s adopted funding list is not a real-time lane closure alert. It does not establish that a specific Granite Bay street is closed this weekend, or that every listed project has already been completed. Each job will have its own scheduling and field conditions.

Residents can review the official project announcement and check Placer County Public Works notices for specific road locations, work windows and detours. The county says the projected SB 1 funding is part of its recommended fiscal budget and does not draw from the General Fund.
