GRANITE BAY, Placer County — Families planning a neighborhood gathering, sports practice or casual afternoon outdoors can use Granite Bay Community Park, a county-maintained recreation area at 6010 Douglas Boulevard.

What amenities are available?

According to Placer County’s official park page, the site includes two soccer fields, two baseball or softball fields, a children’s play area, barbecue facilities, restrooms, drinking fountains, a picnic pavilion and pedestrian walking trails with a view of nearby wetlands.

The park also features the Walk of Honor Memorial, recognizing the service of military members. Visitors should respect posted memorial rules and avoid interrupting ceremonies or reserved group activities.

When is the park open?

The county gives general hours as 30 minutes before sunrise until 30 minutes after sunset. Because sunrise and sunset change by season, these are not fixed clock hours year-round. Posted closures for maintenance or special events may also apply.

What does a reservation cost?

The official page lists an $5 reservation application fee, a $50 picnic pavilion reservation fee and a $250 pavilion security deposit. The county also lists a ball-field rate of $30 per hour with different security-deposit terms for leagues.

Fees and deposits serve different purposes; an advertised deposit is not an extra permanent admission charge if it is refundable under the reservation agreement. Individual organizations should verify applicable rules and any updated pricing before booking.

How to reserve a space

Use the county’s park reservation questionnaire and review any event-permit requirements. For questions the county lists 530-886-4901. The calendar may contain field holds or team reservations, so public availability should not be inferred from an apparently quiet park.
