GRANITE BAY, Placer County — October’s Fire Prevention Week season brought a free First Responders Fire Safety Fair to the Granite Bay community calendar, providing residents a timely reminder to review emergency preparations before winter storms.
What the county announced
The Placer County events calendar listed the fair for October 3, 2026, from 10 a.m. to 1:30 p.m., at Granite Bay Community Park, 6010 Douglas Boulevard.
The announcement described a free public gathering featuring representatives from South Placer Fire District, CAL FIRE, California Highway Patrol, the Sheriff’s Office, Placer County Parks and other public-safety partners. Its focus was wildfire readiness, emergency planning and community awareness.
What is known about attendance?
The calendar verifies that the event was scheduled and promoted. It does not provide a confirmed attendance count or establish how many residents completed training. This article will not invent turnout figures, quotes from visitors or a list of demonstrations that the calendar did not confirm.
Preparedness steps after the event
Granite Bay homeowners can still check smoke alarms, review defensible space, clear dry vegetation safely, know how to reach family members during an outage and prepare a small go-bag with medicines, important documents and basic supplies.
Residents should enroll in Placer Alert to receive official emergency notifications where available. Pet owners and people needing evacuation assistance should prepare plans suited to their household rather than rely on a general emergency checklist.
The October 3 event is now in the past. For upcoming workshops, consult the Placer County calendar and the relevant fire district’s official notices.
